Temi robot assistants, equipped with video calling facility, can connect passengers to the help desk at the terminal.
COIMBATORE: Passengers arriving at the Coimbatore International Airport will be greeted by robots from Thursday.
Two artificial intelligence (AI)-driven robots one each at the departure and arrival terminals will greet passengers and escort them to the gate or to their favourite food counter. They can also inform about flights and passenger convenience services.
Temi robot assistants, equipped with video calling facility, can connect passengers to the help desk at the terminal. “They will be deployed on Thursday evening. The initiative. will improve passenger experience,” airport manager S Senthil Valavan said.
The robots will provide information in English initially, an official said. “They are similar to the ones recently launched at Bengaluru airport. We plan to deploy more based on the success. The initiative will help passengers get more information with a few clicks, without having to move around.”
“We strive to offer a clean and friendly environment to improve user experience in the security hold area,” the official added.”
